| Charlotte, North Carolina is one of my favorite cities in the world, and this is how I would describe a perfect weekend there: I go to a gas station to get gas and while I'm there I also buy the winning lottery ticket! All kidding aside, Charlotte is such a great city. It's a short enough drive to the both the ocean and the mountains, and it's also relatively close to a bunch of other cool cities like Atlanta, Nashville and Richmond, Virginia. But the city itself offers plenty of things to do. It's actually a really big city, but without the big city attitude you find in a lot of other big cities. One thing I'm really looking forward to is the opening of the NASCAR Hall of Fame, which is scheduled for May of this year. Imagine three floors and more than 150,000 square feet of everything NASCAR! It's supposed to feature a bunch of interactive exhibits like Glory Road,â with 18 historic cars, and The Hall of Honor, which will feature all of the beloved NASCAR Hall of Famers. I'm sure this will be a huge tourist attraction for Charlotte once it finally opens. Charlotte is also a great place to get Southern Fried just about anything, and some of the best macaroni and cheese you'll ever eat anywhere. Trust me, after you eat homemade mac & cheese in one of Charlotte's restaurants, you won't even be able to look at a box of Kraft. All in all, Charlotte has a lot to do and the people are super friendly, and it's a great place to do a lot of walking and people watching. A perfect weekend there would probably just happen automatically if you were to go. |
